We recently launched a brand new website for Stuart Holmes Hair & Beauty Salon located in the heart of Regency Cheltenham.
The award winning salon and spa combines the comfort and atmosphere of a chic boutique hotel. The stunning interior was designed by regular client of the salon – TV celebrity Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.
Alongside a cutting edge hair salon, the spa boasts an elegant suite of beauty rooms offering a wide range of treatments including facials, body massages, waxing and tanning. The spa employs several fully trained professional therapists.

Summary
To create a visually exciting web presence which will engage new and existing customers. All areas of the website need to be easy-to-access from anywhere. The services must be clearly presented and include pricing information. The website needs to utilise a cms to allow future scalability. The following areas are required:

The Solution
Here is a brief summary for some of the key area’s within the project scope.
Design
Working with the already established company brand, we used a mixture of modern and traditional design elements to compliment both; the style of the salon, and the existing marketing material. This direction has helped to ensure the web presence seamlessly integrates with the overall brand.
Navigation
In order to satisfy the requirement for a scalable and easy-to-use menu, we created a custom navigation system which elegantly fades-in upon rolling over the main menu bar. The various area’s of the website are split into five sections, About Us, Services, News, Interact and Portfolio. Grouping the site areas under these sections makes it quick and simple for a user to locate desired information. The navigation is also repeated in the footer area of the website.
Payment Integration
The Gifts & Packages area of the website allows customers to purchase gift vouchers and a range of inclusive packages. A PayPal shopping cart system was integrated enabling a fast and reliable ordering experience.
Technology
The website is fully hand coded and validates to XHTML 1.0 Strict – a W3C web standard. The site makes use of various modern CSS3 (forthcoming) standards, including @font-face, box-radius and text-shadow. Interactive functionality throughout the website has been achieved using custom PHP and jQuery coding.
